The Truth in Fairy Tales – A Year of Enchantment: Reflecting on 2023 with Gratitude

As the new president of Brooks Corning, I find myself on the precipice of my year-end reflection, overwhelmed with gratitude for the journey we’ve embarked upon together.

During this Holiday Season, more than ever, I am thinking of those who have made our progress possible. Much like a fairy tale, our story unfolds with the promise of collaboration, resilience, and shared success. If you have read any of my other articles on LinkedIn, you know I love a good fairy tale analogy.

In the Brothers Grimm tale of “The Elves and the Shoemaker”, a humble shoemaker discovers that his fortunes change when a team of industrious elves secretly helps him create exquisite shoes overnight. In my three-month tenure, I have witnessed the magic that resides within the hearts of our extraordinary team.

Our team has worked tirelessly behind the scenes, each member contributing their unique skills and dedication. I am grateful for the commitment and passion that every team member brings to our shared story. Collective efforts with a singular goal in mind bring about remarkable success.  As we met together in November for our week long strategy breakouts, I saw their commitment woven into an intricate tapestry of innovation and determination that defines us as a company.

Like trusted companions, our vendor partners have been instrumental in our success. They have walked beside us, offering their expertise and collaboration; the alliances we have formed represent and reinforce the strength of unity. The partnerships forged have been the cornerstone of our achievements, and I extend my deepest appreciation for their invaluable support.

To our cherished customers, who play the role of the delighted townsfolk discovering the beautifully crafted shoes, your satisfaction is our greatest reward. Your trust and loyalty have transformed our business into a realm of possibilities. Your satisfaction is our happily-ever-after, and we are committed to continuing to exceed your expectations.

As we turn the page to a new chapter, I am excited for the adventures that lie ahead. Let’s carry the spirit of camaraderie, innovation, and gratitude into the coming year, and I look forward to the chapters we will write together in 2024.
