Introducing Brooks Corning’s Newest
With the new year, comes new lines. With our own recent company refresh of updating Brooks Corning to a more clean and modern sleek look, we’ve been working on bringing in new lines that reflect that change. And so, we’re excited to announce that Brooks Corning is now carrying Gus* Modern – a line we’ve been working to bring in for a while now. It’s fresh, modern, a great price point, and also a Canadian company (we like to support as local as possible).
With Gus* Modern, the focus is on making great design practical. With a nod to mid-century Modernist designs, Gus* has created furniture, accents, and accessories that are simply elegant, functional, and reasonably priced. Gus* brings you great designs with a practical purpose. They truly do stick by their slogan motto: “Modern furniture made simple.”
Based out of Toronto, the Gus* Modern Collection can be found at our Brooks Corning showroom in Vancouver, as well as other furniture showrooms across North America and select international showrooms. The line is comprised of a variety of upholstered seating, beds, dining, lighting, accents, and other accessories. Gus* also lists on their website that they provide custom and private label design manufacturing, in case you wanted something a little more customized to your specific needs.
For a quick peek of the line, we’ve put together a list of our top three favourites for you below.
- The Wilson Cabinet: This walnut cabinet is complemented with white lacquered drawers and doors. It’s a functional storage unit that features adjustable shelves and has a versatile look that makes it perfect for any room – the office, living room, dining room, or even a bedroom.
- The Element Rug: The Element is a beautiful, hand-tufted rug handcrafted in India using 100% New Zealand wool. It’s luxuriously plush and dense with a design inspired by traditional patchwork quilts. The bright colours it features bring a pop to any room and is perfect for the upcoming Spring and Summer seasons.
- The Hilary Chair: We love the Hilary Chair not only for its beautiful tailored lines and fluid curves, but also for its functionality. The high back gives wonderful back support and it’s designed for comfort and relaxing in style. It also comes in a variety of different colours to suit everyone’s taste (we’re personally into the Bayview Dandelion).
