Description Having outgrown its former head office, MEC was seeking to build a new facility that would drive the vibrancy of an outdoor culture, support MEC’s values, promote collaboration, and enable adaptability for expansion in the future.  Key space planning objectives were to create environments that supported multiple workstyles as well as a high degree of collaboration. The new workspace would both enable and represent the culture shift the organization desired for the nearly 400 people who work there.  Inter-connected workspaces ensure collaboration between work teams and high-degree of operational efficiency. Spaces with soft seating offer ideal settings for spontaneous or planned meetings. Adjustable worksurfaces let people choose to sit or stand while they work.

MEC’s new 112,000 sq.ft. head office in Vancouver, BC is the direct result of close collaboration between the client, the design team and Haworth; implementing Haworth’s LENS™ assessment tools and Integrated Palette™ of products to create a stunning and functional space that provides future assurance for years to come. Brooks Corning and Haworth continue to work with MEC to ensure that organizational changes are best represented in their physical space by assisting with reconfigurations and on-going maintenance.

The MEC space contains nearly 100% Haworth product, including workstations, height adjustable tables, offices, task seating, tables, lounge seating, lighting, and ancillary products.
